The doctor also has another tip. He recommends avoiding white light in the house, especially the bedroom . We should opt for yellow lighting. This gives off a warm light, which is more relaxing and helps us fall asleep.

According to Dr. Belisaria  , leaving electronic devices such as telephones and IPads on is not a good idea. According to this expert, these are the real culprits that cause us to wake up in the middle of the night.

Several scientific studies show that children need to go to bed on time, for a simple reason. In most people the growth hormones are activated around half past one in the night. This only happens in the fourth stage of sleep.

This means that if your child goes to bed at 10, 11 or even later, these hormones have too little time to work. This then affects their growth.

To support this study, researchers compared images of the brain. They compared those of children who go to bed on time with children who sleep late. All children also took a math test. The first group appeared to perform well, while the latter group only scored positive on certain parts of the test.

Getting enough sleep and exercise is important

The academics speculate that children who sleep little or less tend to remember less. They remember less  than those who are more rested. In addition, they claim, children who get enough sleep are less likely to develop diseases like Alzheimer’s as adults.
